Attention all Bluegrass Fans
Bill Monroe was a great friend to everyone who loved bluegrass music. Guitarist and “Bluegrass Boy” Bob Fowler introduced Monroe to photographer Charmaine Lanham and her husband, master luther Marty Lanham (Nashville Guitar Company) in 1973. Not long after, the Lanhams opened the original Station Inn nightclub in Nashville with Fowler and several business partners.
Monroe made a point to come to the club when he was home from the road and would invite any and all pickers who happened to be there to join him onstage. His neverending generosity in sharing and encouraging his style of music was unique, and with his help, the Station Inn became the premier bluegrass venue in the country, still in operation in its 38th year.
